The following policy motions were approved by the faculty on October 3, 2007:
The history department will approve credit for HIS 3728 for all History of North Carolina courses transferred in from approved programs at four-year universities.
For students who transfer in to ASU with credit for both halves of American Civilization or United States History, the student may elect to use those credits to satisfy the HIS 1102 requirement instead of, but not in addition to, credit for American Civilization or United States History.
The department will add the following course to the catalog:
HIS 3600. Research Assistantship/ (1-3). F;S.
A supervised experience in which the student does historical research on a faculty member’s project under the direction of that faculty member, resulting in a product of learning. Limited to three hours. Prerequisite: history major or minor.
The department will not approve any independent study for courses that are in the catalog.
